International Mission

Brad and Julia Frey - Italy

Brad and Julia Frey, along with their children Mitchell and Vika, have begun ministry in Italy from their base in London, UK. While Italy is not everyone’s first idea of a mission field, the reality is that it is needy and desperately short of dedicated workers for the Gospel. Brad and Julia will have the opportunity to work and share the good news of Jesus through English as a Second Language classes, as well as work in church planting, and with other congregations in the areas of discipleship and mentoring.

As a first step the Frey's have moved to London, where they will be learning Italian and making foundational mission trips to Trieste while serving at Eltham Green Community Church.

Jericho Road Youth Project - Mbarara, Uganda

The Jericho Road Youth Project is based in the poorest section of Mbarara, Uganda. It provides a first step up for young boys who for one reason or another have resorted to living on the streets of Kampala or Mbarara as their only hope.

The Jericho Road Youth Project emerged from the vision and passion of Pat Kokura, a retired teacher from Port Alberni and a member of our Jericho Road Port Alberni campus.

Pat travelled to Uganda in the mid 1990′s and wanted to serve the Lord in some capacity amongst those in need. Eventually she responded to the plight of many young boys wandering the streets and sleeping by the roadside – some who were very young indeed. Through a process of trial and error she finally linked up with a number of people in Mbarara – specifically Nick (who runs a catering business) and George (a Full Gospel pastor).Together they began the process of finding a location and providing a place where streetkids could begin a journey back to hope and building a future. The vision was to provide a safe haven for them with regular meals, clean clothes, and the chance to re-integrate into school.

At present JRYP is home to 23 boys who live together in a very basic compound. They attend school, and are involved in work, celebration and a basic introduction to Jesus at the Jericho Road home in Mbarara where several boys have been involved for five years or more.

Mexico Mission 2012

In March 2012 twelve teens and three adults from Jericho Road church went to Tecate, Mexico (a town just east of Tijuana) and built a house for a family of five during Spring Break. This was the third home-building mission that Jericho Road has been involved in in Mexico with Amor Ministries, in addition to similar work in Honduras.
