Local Leadership
We are committed to shared and locally accountable leadership at Jericho Road. This includes a local council at each of our campuses which meets regularly to pray for and discern the direction of that campus. Council persons are nominated by local campus members, affirmed by the current Council, and then ratified by the campus membership at our Annual General Meeting.
All leadership is also ultimately accountable to leadership within the Anglican Coalition of Canada (see below). We understand accountability to be rooted in friendship and mutual support rather than legal structure and roles.
Port Alberni campus Council members include:
Jean Cutforth (Council Member)
Diana Patterson (Council Member)
Ken Seegmiller (Council Member)
Ken (Elder) and Carol Hunter (Treasurer)
Fred Mather (Elder)
Dave (Pastor) and Megan (Elder) De Jong
John Cox (Team Leader)
Regional Leadership
As one church with three campuses, we have a regional Pastoral Oversight Team who meet at least four times a year to offer mutual support and encouragement, assess spiritual health and direction, and share in major campus and church decisions. This regional team includes our regional team leader, the lead pastor from each campus, and one elder from each campus.
Denominational Connections
In addition to shared and locally accountable leadership, we are part of the Anglican Coalition in Canada and the Anglican Mission in the Americas. Together with these networks we encourage and promote a contemporary expression of the Christian faith within the worldwide Anglican Communion, enjoy a relationally-based accountability structure that is larger than any one campus, network or leader and rooted in friendship and mutual support rather than legal structures and roles.
